Bluebird Country Crafts - About Me
My name is Auguste, I've been crafting as long as I can remember. I have my mom to thank for that as she was always sewing something and I use to hang around and watch her. I fondly remember my first needlepoint kit she bought me from Avon - it had two little pigs on it facing each other with a heart over top of them and flowers scattered all around.
I've always done needlepoint and cross stitch. When my daughter was born I bought my first sewing machine. The first thing I sewed was a big fuzzy teddy bear for her. As a matter of fact it was so big she would lay on it with her whole body and go to sleep. After tackling such a tasking job I started making curtains and things for my home.
In 1999 I saw my first home embroidery machine. I had to have it and my husband urged me to get it, even though the price was crazy. Needless to say I purchased it. I was embroidering anything that got in my path. I did shirts for my husband and the next thing we knew people were asking to have their own things embroidered. From that day on we were in business. We have since acquired our commerical machinery and my home embroidery machine has retired to just sewing.
In 2000 I got my first taste of quilting. That opened up a whole new world to me. I love to buy fabric so what better way to use it than to make something that could be treasured for generations! In 2000 I also helped with my first wedding making the veil, ring bearers pillow, bridal bag, and favors.
I have to Thank my Family and Friends (both old & new), if it wasn't for all of your support I wouldn't be where I am today!
Aside from crafting one of the things that I do with my husband and all of our friends is go Antique Tractor Pulling. The guys have started a tractor pulling team: "Harford Hookers" Antique Tractor Pulling. I've put up a website for them where you can learn about the team and the members. The site will be updated regulary and can be found at Harford Hookers Antique Tractor Pulling. Please come and check us out!
